Suicide at Evansville Central H.S. – Identified

UPDATE: The name of the student has been released by the Evansville Police Department. Roman Matthew Kellough (15) was found near the entrance of the school. An autopsy is scheduled for 2pm this afternoon.

Previously Published: Police and staff redirected students into the alternate doors of Central High School this morning as a dead body was found by a Central student at around 7am near the Main Entrance. The kids have been texting their parents about the situation before police have finished investigating the facts. One mother stated that a lot of the students unfortunately saw the body. News crews have been sent to a staging area awaiting more information. The Vanderburgh County Coroner, Steve Lockyear, has stated that it was a male and a former student who has recently withdrawn from Central. Lockyear also stated that the cause of death was a single, self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Please pray for the students, the staff, the friends and the family of the deceased.
