Protecting Students as They Go Back to School – by Jeannie Georges

Jeannie Georges

Back-to-school ads are everywhere, and parents are scrambling to get ready for another school year.  This isn’t your great grandpa’s one-room school that children will be entering.  There are things that parents must be concerned about that were unheard of in Grandpa’s days.

For instance, in Grandpa’s day it was not uncommon for high school graduates to be unfamiliar with the term homosexual.  However, it was common for them to have studied Latin, calculus and trigonometry.

But those days are gone. Today, it is expected that every first grader must learn and know all about homosexuals, transgenders, and pansexuals as well as their sexual activities.

Here, then, are some protections from the things you may disagree with that will probably be in the classrooms.

Most parents will be told there is no exemption, no excuse. no way around having their child fully vaccinated.  However, in Indiana, this is not true.  Indiana law allows two exemptions – religious and medical.  Your D.O. or M.D. will have to vouch for the medical exemption.  The religious objection must be in writing, be signed by the child’s parent and delivered to the school.  It must also specify the vaccines the parent is refusing.  There is no requirement of proof.  This will have to be done each school year.

If they refuse to sign it, write the name of that person on the copy that you keep and date it.

Notice this form draws more attention to sex education but it also includes (in section H) some of the more important but mostly overlooked classroom activities.  Schools have electronically notified parents late Sunday night informing them about a survey that will be given on Monday.  This is a clever way to fulfill their obligation to notify parents who will not see the notification in time to question the activity or opt- out of it.  This pro-active non-consent form should protect a student from surveys and evaluations that are given when parents aren’t informed about them.

It is important that the students not be analyzed or evaluated on attitudes, habits, traits, opinion, beliefs and such because someone somewhere, we know not who, is attempting to alter those traits without the knowledge of the student or parent…

Filling out a form doesn’t relieve a parent of further obligations because it cannot be assumed that the school will even remember that you’ve given them written notice of your expectations.

Remember the old adage – a family that prays together stays together?

Prayer at the supper table is not only a necessity for the sake of the prayer but in addition that family is brought together to discuss the day’s activities and tomorrow’s expectations.   Be warned – when the gifted and talented programs began, researchers realized that psychological manipulation had to be a classroom activity.  The students, who were naturally bright, did their academic study at home – in their rooms – alone.  This served to keep the student away from the dinner table and the discussions that would naturally take place.  Parents never knew what went on in the classroom and never complained about anything except that their child had too much homework.Image result for glow kids

As a reminder, if you’ve been a regular reader of this paper, you know that the I pod in the classroom has a number of disadvantages such as physical health problems, data collection, privacy invasion and unknown non-academic activity leading to addictions.  (What’s more, you knew it before the World Health Organization made their announcement about the problems associated with children and their electronics.)   Since, the classroom will be immersed in electromagnetic frequencies, parents should be cautious about allowing more electronic activity at home.
