Pro-Life, Pro-Family, Conservative, Values: Vote for Dr. James Buckmaster for KY State Rep. District 11

Biography

Dr. James Edward Buckmaster serves Henderson, Kentucky as one of the most respected family physicians. He desires to take his dedication he has demonstrated these past thirty-four years and represent the people of Henderson and Daviess counties of Kentucky.

James, born in 1958, is the seventh of eight children to Dr. George and Grace Buckmaster. Both parents were World War II veterans. He is also the grandson of Leland S. Buckmaster, former president of the United Rubber Workers Union in the 1950s and 1960s. James appreciated his parents’ service to their country and is grateful for the example his grandfather gave being a humble and faithful servant to his fellow workers.

James graduated Magnum Cum Laude at Brescia University in Owensboro, Kentucky where he received a degree in biology. In 1980, following his father’s example, he entered the University of Kentucky Medical School. In 1987, he finished his medical education at the Toledo Hospital specializing in Family Practice. He returned to Henderson, Kentucky and worked as a physician at the MEC Center. He remained in this position until 1996.

After observing the expenses levied on the uninsured and under-insured, it compelled him to open Corpus Christi Clinic, a medical center for the working poor. For the past seventeen years, the clinic has served area residents by providing top quality medical care. He has maintained medical fees at 60% below other walk-in clinics in the region without any government assistance. At the beginning of 2009, for the first time, he began to accept private insurance.

Although James holds his successful medical practice and community contributions in high esteem, he regards his greatest moment to be when he married Marcia Toon, daughter of William Toon of Fancy Farm, Kentucky and Dorothy Boarman of Whitesville, Kentucky. Over the last thirty-two years, they have raised eight children.

James, Marcia and their children enjoy living in Henderson, Kentucky and are active members of their Catholic Church and local community.
