Trash Talk: Whatever it Takes to Dump Trump – by Jim Bratten

American media spent a few days last week doing one of the things it does best – trashing U.S. economic progress.

Despite the stellar state of the U.S. economy compared to other industrialized nations, the Propaganda Press is continually talking it down. They are now spreading the fear that our economy is heading for recession, despite very few reliable indicators pointing to it.

When U.S. Treasury 2-year and 10year bond yields became slightly inverted (the 2-year yield greater than the 10-year) economic gurus and financial wizards hinted at possible recession. However, even ex-Federal Reserve chairman Janet Yellen said the economy was strong and a recession was highly unlikely. That didn’t matter to the media; facts will never affect or alter the plan to destroy President Trump. The well-being of our nation is immaterial. A devastating set-back must be delivered to Trump’s 2020 reelection efforts; the future of the Democrat Party depends on it.

Contempt for President Donald Trump is so strong, so pervasive, that anything capable of bringing down Trump is approved by the single-objective media. Crying “Recession!” is the next attempt.

Last Wednesday on CNN Newsroom, the scary phrase was, “Warning signs are everywhere, flashing everywhere.” MSNBC ran the headline “Markets Open Sharply Lower after Recession Warning” to preface the Live with Stephanie Ruhle show. Stephanie scoffed, “We think we have this great economy… I take huge issue with Larry Kudlow [Trump’s economic adviser]. He’s basically lying to the American people – every time he comes on air, he says the economy is ‘crushing it.’”

On the same day, CNN stalwart Wolf Blitzer appeared on The Situation Room with the “breaking news” headline: “Markets plunge over recession fears as Trump blames Federal Reserve instead of his trade war.” Blitzer interviewed Tom Steyer, billionaire radical environmentalist from San Francisco and rabid Trump impeachment fanatic. Steyer warned, “Well, Americans should be worried because our president is a fraud and a failure when it comes to business and when it comes to managing our economy.” Wrong on all counts, but Mr. Steyer wouldn’t know that since he cannot see past his perverse hatred for Trump.

Impeachment is going nowhere because there’s nothing that supports it. The Russia Hoax failed. The Obstruction Scheme fell apart. Calling Trump a racist is wearing out, so media attack dogs moved on to other pejoratives: Trump is a “white supremacist,” “white nationalist,” “Nazi,” or whatever might stick.

Even as the Propaganda Press tries to trash the booming economy and growing prosperity of the middle class, working Americans bring home more moolah in their paychecks. The media is desperate, facts too numerous and too ironclad to denounce. So they say, “People just aren’t feeling it.” Fortunately, that ploy only works on mind-numbed, progressive Democrat voters. Independents aren’t buying it and Trump’s base certainly isn’t. They know what President Trump has done is working; he promised, and he has delivered.

So the next doom-and-gloom threat is a recession. Progressive talk show host Bill Maher has admitted that he “wants a recession” because it will get rid of Trump.

Media propaganda can influence public attitude. If the country must suffer to be rid of Trump, well, so be it. If all the gains in prosperity achieved by Trump’s leadership are abandoned, it’s a sacrifice that must be made, if you listen to Bill Maher.
