This week, Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s Circus of the Absurd opens in the U.S. Senate. After rushing to impeach President Donald Trump, passing the final vote in favor of impeachment on December 18, 2019, Nancy waited, waited… and waited.
Asked about her delay in signing the Articles of Impeachment (two accusations: abuse of power and obstruction of Congress) and her hesitation to deliver them to the Senate over the last month, her excuse was that she was examining the situation in the Senate to be sure the impeachment charges would have a “fair hearing.”
Then early last week she moved, choosing her “impeachment managers” to present the Democrats’ case (it’s solely the Democrats’ impeachment, since no House Republicans voted for it) in the Senate. These illustrious paragons of constitutional propriety are all Democrats: Adam Schiff (CA); Jerrold Nadler (NY); Zoe Lofgren (CA); Hakeem Jeffries (NY); Val Demings (FL); Jason Crow (CO); and Sylvia Garcia (TX). Pelosi said it was “her duty” to appoint these managers for such a “solemn” act. So solemn that she grinned throughout the official signing of the Articles, handing out embossed pens to all Democrats present to commemorate the occasion.
The Articles of Impeachment were then ceremoniously carried from the House to the Senate on January 16 with Pelosi’s “impeachment managers” forcing visages of solemnity to mask their inner glee. Later, Nancy gloated over the act with Bill Maher, giving him a fist bump for emphasis.
Even though President Trump has not violated the Constitution, statutory law or a court order, Democrats are proceeding with their sham impeachment. He has done nothing illegal under U.S. law, but that’s not stopping progressives from pursuing any ruse they can concoct to stop him from governing, even when it comes to foreign policy, and negate an election. Under the Democrats’ tyranny, their fascism trumps executive authority and even judicial authority, since the court was skirted in the House impeachment process. They believe sole governmental power should be vested in the Democrat-controlled House.
As Nancy Pelosi stated with smug satisfaction, House Democrats delivered “an impeachment that will last forever.” They are out to ruin Trump and, along with him, the country. Their faux impeachment fits with their real objective: one party rule.
The Articles of Impeachment are deficient and fraudulent.
After the arguments by the House managers and the president’s legal team, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell needs to call a vote to dismiss the charges as fraudulent. Many Republicans in the Senate want to “test” this impeachment scam with “business as usual.” But this corrupt attempt to ignore the Constitution demands that Senate GOP members denounce the fake impeachment as having no merit; no crimes were committed by the president, there’s no evidence of any, there was no due process followed, and the two articles of impeachment don’t qualify constitutionally. Why conduct a trial if what the House gave you is tainted and unconstitutional?
Let both sides present their case, then dismiss the impeachment as unfounded and unsupported by any evidence.
It’s sad that Republicans in the Senate have five members that can’t vouch for the Constitution, but Democrats have all the votes they need to advance tyranny.
Democrats have neither facts nor the law on their side. End this corrupt scam, Senator McConnell, and dismiss this farce. Stop a senseless vendetta.
