Even in Indiana – by Jim Bratten

Attempts to grant unwarranted privileges to illegal aliens can even happen in Red States.

Indiana state representative Chris Campbell (D-West Lafayette) introduced a 77-page bill to grant driver’s licenses to illegal aliens in the Hoosier State. She called these “driver’s cards” and justified her bill as beneficial to the economy and road safety.

“This bill was brought to me,” she said, “by community members. As a legislator, it is up to me to represent my community.” Not surprisingly, her “community” is composed of influential “open borders” progressive academics who work at Purdue University.

Rep. Campbell’s “community” also includes numerous students who attend the university, grossly uneducated in the dangers of the presence of millions of illegal aliens, and the costs, economically, culturally, and legally.

And WHY would it take 77 pages to grant driver’s licenses to illegal aliens? What other “privileges” are in the bill?

Fortunately, HB 1038 died.
