Militants On the March: Demanding Their Utopia – by Jim Bratten

Jim Bratten

Stark examples were provided last week of what occurs when militant leftists forcibly occupy a neighborhood and ban police presence. Crime reports are three times higher but no police are allowed. Moronic ignorance was on full display: pre-adults starting their own nation with a long list of childish demands from a country they had just abandoned (they claim they are no longer part of the U.S.).

We understand that most of these misfits are recent graduates from accredited U.S. colleges and universities, so their knowledge of “how things work” isn’t the best or brightest, but they should possess the maturity to choose: Are you holding property inside Seattle hostage, in hopes of collecting ransom (your demands granted), or have you factually seceded from the U.S.?

When perimeter guards are posted, armed with semi-auto weapons and residents are harassed and threatened with possible bodily harm, they must understand that this is no longer a game of taunting police or other civil authorities by breaking glass, torching property or police vehicles. This is a nation governed by the rule of law and, although they feel that reality no longer applies to them due to their new autonomy, the laws broken while “getting there” (like violating civil liberties) still apply in the U.S. Hopefully, their criminal acts will be handled judiciously and lawfully.

Since an angry band of Marxist revolutionaries, fascists, anarchists, and black power advocates have coalesced under the dual umbrella of Antifa/Black Lives Matter (which share similar ideologies and goals), they should be capable of facing legal challenges to any autonomy they claim to possess, allowed by a deranged and clueless Seattle mayor, and backed by an equally questionable governor.

The occupiers originally had a list of just three demands but now, after a week, their “demands” increased substantially and will probably grow further as more radical ideas blossom from the leadership. Here are some “gems” from a long list:

1) De-gentrify Seattle
2) City funding of arts and culture
3) Free college, public housing, health care
4) No homeless sweeps
5) End all convictions
6) Decentralized election system
7) Support black-owned business
8) Abolish police and courts
9) Ban use of armed force
10) Abolish youth prisons, juvenile jails, and school police
11) Federal probe into police brutality
12) Reparations for victims
13) Make law officers names public
14) Retrials for people of color
15) Amnesty for protesters
16) Expunge pot-related records
17) No jail for resisting arrest
18) End immunity for police
19) No privately-owned prisons
20) Restorative accountability
21) Localized anti-crime systems
22) Return of items seized by police
23) Justice for harassment
24) Body cams for all police
25) Funds for social programs
26) Refer to illegal immigrants as “undocumented” and…
27) Remove any monuments in Washington State dedicated to the Confederacy

Much of the list looks laughable, but these militants are deadly serious. Antifa leaders have requested their comrades across the country establish more “autonomous zones” in other U.S. cities, to accomplish objectives similar to Seattle.

Sadly, we make more of these in our colleges and universities every day.
