Trump Wins: Charlatans Exposed in the Circus of the Absurd, Act Two – by Jim Bratten

Jim Bratten

“A constitution defines and limits the powers of the government it creates. It therefore follows, as a natural and also a logical result, that the government exercise of any power not authorized by the constitution is an assumed power, and therefore illegal.” ~ Thomas Paine, “Constitutions, Governments, and Charters,” 1805

With no due process, no presentation of evidence, and no Chief Justice presiding, it was another absurd free-for-all impeachment circus, driven by intense hatred, and demanding vengeance on a despised man who had already vacated public office.

The entire process in the House was constitutionally illegal, an “assumed power” according to Paine. But the Senate, voting to allow the trial of the second Trump impeachment farce was also an “assumed power.” Voting the fraudulent trial as “constitutional” by a vote of 56 to 44, the document that created the government was violated by that very government. Senators of the new Democrat-Socialist Party voted en bloc and six so-called Republicans joined them: Mitt Romney (UT), Susan Collins (ME), Lisa Murkowski (AK), Pat Toomey (PA), Ben Sasse (NE), and Bill Cassidy (LA).

After a week of Democrat hubris and hypocrisy, Trump’s team of attorneys methodically exposed the deceptive editing of the Democrat impeachment managers’ video propaganda. The beat-down of the Democrat charlatans on February 12 from Trump’s defense attorneys––David Schoen, Michael Van Der Veer, and Bruce Castor–– was effective. The Democrat House impeachment managers’ double standards and lies were exposed. Trump’s attorneys described the farce as “plainly unconstitutional,” “Constitution cancel culture,” and simply, “ludicrous.”

Five Republican senators joined Democrats voting in favor of witnesses; Lindsey Graham (SC) joining the usual group of GOP anti-Trumpers. No witnesses were called, however, after negotiation between the sides. Closing arguments occurred in the Senate on Saturday, February 13 and, later that day, the U.S. Senate voted to acquit President Trump of all charges brought by the House Democrats––57 for impeachment to 43 against. Democrats and anti-Trump Republicans failed to reach the votes needed to convict. Seven Republicans had sided with Democrats in the latest hoax to destroy Donald Trump and deny his ability to run for public office ever again, Richard Burr (NC) joining the original six.

Although Senate Minority leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) voted to acquit, he gave a final shot to Trump: “Former President Trump’s actions preceding the riot were a disgraceful, disgraceful, dereliction of duty. Trump is partially and morally responsible for provoking the events of the day.” It must embarrass people in Kentucky when their Republican senator’s ignorance of the facts is self-inflicted. Worse, serious damage is done to a nation where elected officials work only for their own gain.

The Second Act of the Circus of the Absurd, the Impeachment of Trump, is over, but the entire farce has been not so much an indictment of Trump as an indictment of half of the American voting populace. Those people (who wanted secure borders for our nation, their language and culture preserved) now need to be deprogrammed from the Cult of Trump, according to Democrats. But the radical Left isn’t done with Donald Trump yet, or the people he approached for support in his campaign. Other outrageous attacks will come.

At least, last Saturday, the Constitution won. But it’s still hemorrhaging.
