The Boulder, Colorado shooter was welcomed into this country as a refugee when he was three. He and his family from Syria were allowed refuge in the U.S. under Obama’s Muslim refugee program.
This fact was ignored by media reports that produced a hopeful narrative: He’s a white male shooter. If he would have been an evangelical Christian, the Democrat Media would have been overjoyed. As his identity became known, however, the press maintained their packaged narrative, refusing to mention his origins or his religious ideology.
Ahmed al Issa was a Muslim and, judging by his social media history, an Islamist. He became a home-grown Islamic terrorist.
Of course, Joe Biden eagerly stepped forward into the ring of full idiocy when he once more blamed the weapon. Then he misidentified the firearm used as an AR-15, since that semi-automatic sport rifle is always cast as the villain by progressives in any slaying using a firearm. In reality, the weapon used was a semi-automatic pistol that looked like a semi-auto rifle. But Joe jumped to the familiar gun-blaming narrative: immediate gun control, no questions allowed. He never questioned the shooter’s theocratic ideology.
The FBI knew about the radical bent of al Issa; his jihadist beliefs were expressed liberally on social media. The agency was even aware of the killer’s fits of anger, but he wasn’t on a watch list for observation.
Colorado is a state that already uses comprehensive background checks and Boulder is a city with a semi-auto sport rifle ban. Al Issa bought his weapon legally, despite a stringent background check system. Comprehensive or not, databases are worthless if the FBI doesn’t watch them for red flags. Even though Boulder’s semi-auto firearms ban doesn’t cover handguns, al Issa’s purchase should have been blocked, simply because of his Islamist intentions.
Another tragic failure by Obama’s politicized law enforcement agency killed ten innocent Americans and gave Biden the green light, setting the stage to make good on Joe’s threat of aggressive gun control — but no actions against home-grown Islamists.
