Constitution Day – by Jim Bratten

The things America stands for are falling away before our eyes. An anti-American political party is working hard to erase our history and our nation’s wonderful achievements, even the very purpose of the United States of America itself. Their objective is the dissolution of our republican form of government, replaced by a centralized, one-party, authoritarian state. In a word, as described by Mark Levin, an Americanized Marxist state.

What is being taught now to every child in government schools is completely counter to our nation’s founding principles and ideas. It’s not due to ineptitude or lack of teaching skill or an inability to recognize the facts of our Founding (historically well-established and documented) in a curriculum. It’s the complete bastardization of our Founding, even twisting and perverting our children’s understanding of freedom and liberty with fiction as in the 1619 Project.

President George Washington, the first to hold that office and appropriately known as Father of Our Country, said this, concerning the education of American children: “A primary object… should be the education of our youth in the science of government. In a republic, what species of knowledge can be equally important? And what duty more pressing… than communicating it to those who are to be the future guardians of the liberties of the country?”

Last Friday, September 17, was Constitution Day, the date in 1787 when the final draft of our Constitution was signed by 39 of the 55 who had gathered there in Philadelphia that hot summer at the final Constitutional Convention. “We the People” was a unique concept at the time and still is today, in the only nation true to the form of a constitutional, representative republic; the first and only of its kind and survivor of attacks for 234 years. That document is still respected by millions across the continents of this world, by people longing to be free.

But not here, apparently, judging by the lack of reverence and recognition shown for that day, even though it’s a federal statute to teach the United States Constitution in every government school during that week.
