The Biden Effect – by Jim Bratten

Prices of gas at the pump seen last week in West Hollywood, California were:

Regular — $7.35/gal.

Mid-Grade — $7.65/gal.

Premium — $7.95/gal.

These were the highest retail prices for automotive gasoline in recorded U.S. history.

On March 12, the average price for regular grade gas “at the pump” was $4.33, another record for Democrats to be proud of. They’ve been promising this since the Obama Regime, as part of “going green.” Now, it’s here.

Joe Biden blames Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine, which occurred on February 24. But Joe’s anti-energy policies to kill fossil fuel use in the U.S. have pushed prices skyward for over a year, even though Joe says “there’s nothing his administration is doing” to drive oil prices higher. That’s a lie. Everything Biden’s doing drives oil prices higher for American consumers.

Biden Regime policies reflect an agenda to suppress or cease petroleum production in the U.S.; policies such as:

  • Freezing new oil and gas leases
  • Imposing new requirements on oil and gas producers
  • Limiting oil and gas exploration
  • Pulling the permits for the Keystone XL pipeline
  • Revoking Gulf of Mexico drilling leases
  • Canceling drilling permits on federal land across the U.S. and off our coasts, and…
  • Shutting down ANWAR and offshore sites in Alaska

The “9,000 leases” that Biden Regime spokeswoman Peppermint Patty (Jen Psaki) keeps driving about are worthless if oil companies can’t obtain permits to drill on that land. They don’t care how the oil business works; they want it dead.

Joe will press on and continue his anti-oil agenda, blind to the leverage he gives Mr. Putin.
