Passengers aboard many airline flights cheered last week, ecstatic over recovery of their in-flight liberty. A federal judge had just ruled that the CDC had no authority to extend the mask mandates on modes of transportation. This made the self-anointed arbiters of all things healthy – the medical elite and their technocrat minions in the Fauci Fan Club – furious at their sudden loss of control. Ignorant progressives cowered behind their masks in desperation, quaking in fear for their lives, finding it incomprehensible that anyone would shun masks.
The CDC attempted to do another end-run around the Constitution to restore the mask mandate for transportation but was overruled. Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) introduced legislation to end mask mandates for airplanes and public transportation earlier this month that passed the Senate, but Biden’s CDC just kept extending the requirements. Finally, the court had to step in and say, “No!”
In a note to supporters last Friday, Sen. Paul once more expressed his frustrations at the Biden push for mask mandates: “A federal judge in Florida ruled that the CDC has no authority to extend those mandates. In response, the mask mandate is on PAUSE. The administration said they won’t enforce it ‘at this time.’
“But enough is enough. We need to take this opportunity to get rid of them completely. Otherwise, those power-hungry bureaucrats will have the option of ‘reinstating’ the mask mandate anytime they feel like… right now, every person over 2 years old is required to wear masks on planes and on federal property and it has nothing to do with science. It’s about demanding the submission of Americans. These power-hungry bureaucrats just don’t want to let go of all the power they’ve collected during this pandemic.
“But it’s time to draw the line. We can’t continue to submit forever. I’m standing with this judge and with America to tell Biden and the CDC that we’ve had enough. It’s time to throw the masks away. FOR GOOD!” (Emphasis in original)
No other virus has been the reason to “mask up” an entire population, using masks that do not stop the airborne molecules of a virus such as Covid-19. Coronavirus particle diameter varies between 0.06 and 0.14 micrometers. Even the highly-touted N95 masks only stop particles larger than 5 micrometers. Most masks are effectively worthless, as many double-blind studies show. Mask wearers had the same infection rate, under identical conditions, as those without masks. This has been shown repeatedly, but U.S. health agencies do not report it. Studies show no statistical difference — masks or no masks– but the government mandates the wearing of masks. Why, when these serve no purpose in slowing the spread of the disease?
And why do government medical geniuses such as Dr. Fauci demand mask wearing for children, very few of which suffer any dire circumstances from Covid-19? With very few exceptions, children don’t catch it and don’t act as spreaders to other children or adults. But there are serious effects of daily mask wearing on children, whether in home or school environments. They re-inhale much of the CO2 they had just exhaled into the mask, along with bacteria that build up, trapped in an all-day mask. This can retard learning ability and kids don’t recover lost memory, particularly facial expressions, recognition of which is lost. No studies have been done by our government agencies weighing possible benefits of masks for children versus the risks. For Covid-19, the death rate among children who contract it is 0.025%, lower than the common flu. And the CDC doesn’t demand mask mandates for influenza. The potential health risk to children from daily mask wearing is greater than that from the coronavirus.
Despite all this, there is a national effort pushed by the Biden Regime, and teachers’ unions through their captive school boards, to mask up all children over two years old. There have been no studies to justify any mandate for masks (or injections) for children. Our children are being used as guinea pigs in an experiment. When asked about ill effects of mandatory masks on children, one government health official said, “We’ll have to wait and see.”
Late last year, a Newsweek article declared, “How Fauci Fooled America,” explaining that “…masks are either of zero or limited benefit.”
Yet here we are in April, 2022, six months after that article exposed the mask mythology, and we still fight the despotism of Fauci, the CDC, the NIH, and the bulk of the Biden Regime regarding masks.
