The historic Supreme Court reversal of Roe overturned the federal theft of states’ rights in 1973. The Supreme Court has restored the states’ constitutional authority to make laws on abortion over which, constitutionally, the federal government has no authority.
Roe v. Wade is finished. But the radical pro-abortion Left and its Democrat Party is enraged, foaming at the mouth, frantically trying to force every state to expand the availability of abortion, no term restrictions, heartbeat laws or the like. This will now be a state-by-state fight and they’re eager to defend a sacrament of their religion.
Hard-left governors are now trying to block their state’s pro-life laws, many of which were passed in those states years ago with triggers to activate the laws if the federal status of abortion changed, which it now most certainly has. Other states are trying to expand abortion options through birth – for any reason conceivable – including legalizing infanticide. To actively support these moves, the abortion industry unleashed a flurry of lawsuits in state courts to block any attempted bans on abortion. Some state courts have already blocked any further abortion bans.
In Indiana, both chambers of the General Assembly are super-majority Republican, yet an “abortion ban” bill was written by the Republican-controlled senate that had loopholes for exceptions all through the bill. Obviously, it’s an insincere attempt that is grossly more political than it is moral. And the life of the child, the crux of this issue, is hardly mentioned. A special session begins today, launching another battle in the Fight for Life in Indiana’s legislature, but if this terrible bill remains unchanged, it must be defeated.
Meanwhile, pro-abortion terrorists are defacing and firebombing pro-life pregnancy centers across the nation, in attempts to censor, silence, and shut down lifesaving work provided at these pro-life establishments and organizations. Planned Parenthood, NARAL, and Pro-Choice America, to name a few, are conspiring with pro-abortion legislators in every state to stop the pro-life centers’ lifesaving work.
When Massachusetts Democrat Senator Elizabeth Warren found there were more pro-life pregnancy centers in her state than Planned Parenthood clinics, she said she will work to “shut them down” nationally. Warren has voiced no concern over pro-abortion terrorists firebombing lifesaving pregnancy centers, which have the right to save pre-born children in every state, but she could care less about saving innocent pre-born lives.
And the Biden Regime has been very busy doing all it can to reverse the Roe reversal. Presumptive president Joe Biden has unleashed his taxpayer-funded Deep State bureaucracy to do all it can to assist Planned Parenthood, NARAL, and other promoters of pre-born death. He is demanding the Senate nuke the filibuster to unconstitutionally codify Roe and has issued a dangerous executive order to empower his pro-abortion bureaucracy, including HHS Secretary Becerra, to launch a targeted attack to intimidate and shut down pro-life centers.
Biden may also invoke a “health emergency” executive order to sentence more babies to death by abortion. But the instances of a woman’s “health emergency” hinging on the death of her pre-born baby are nearly infinitesimal.
Democrats in the House have already passed a blatantly unconstitutional bill that is an attempt to make Roe permanent. If this bill passes the Senate, Democrats think it could overturn the Supreme Court’s monumental Roe decision and eviscerate pro-life laws in every single state. But since the Constitution gives no power to Congress to deal with abortion, it cannot legally override state laws.
Jim Harbaugh, Head Coach of the University of Michigan Wolverines, had this to say last week, and it simplifies the battle for life:
“I believe in having the courage to let the unborn be born… I love life. I believe in having a loving care and respect for life and death. My faith and my science are what drive these beliefs in me… Quoting from Jeremiah, ‘Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you. Before you were born, I set you apart. I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.’
“…There are conflicts between the legitimate rights of the mother and the rights of the unborn child. One resolution might involve incredible hardship for the mother, family and society. Another results in the death of an unborn person. Neither outcome is good, but between the two, the life of the unborn person must win out.”
However, the Biden Regime continues to grab power it has no right to and make decisions that place its own agenda over the needs of the American people, particularly those waiting to be born for their chance to live as American people.
