And so it began again, history repeating itself, as California Democrat Nancy “Cut Your Head Off” Pelosi (named that by her own daughter) clutched the gavel handed to her by Republican Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA). Since the former speaker, Republican Paul Ryan (the man most responsible for engineering Pelosi’s return to power), wasn’t around the duty fell to McCarthy, Ryan’s protégé. His damage done, Ryan had returned to Wisconsin to plan a new lucrative lobbying career.
Day One of Nancy Pelosi’s third stint as Speaker of the House went as expected. The Democrat representative from California eagerly gripped her gavel as she released the latch on the looney bin and the inmates poured forth to launch their demented plans for the further destruction of the republic. Since she doesn’t have strong opponents on the Republican side of the House, other than the Freedom Caucus, it should be clear sailing.
The first bill Speaker Pelosi introduced was H.R. 1, and she explained that its intent was to “clean up corruption and restore integrity to Congress.” Spoken by one of the most corrupt members of Congress, her summary of the bill was laughable.
Of course, the most politicized item was high on the agenda, no matter what Democrat leadership says. Rep. Brad Sherman (D-CA) and Rep. Al Green (D-TX) reintroduced articles of impeachment against President Trump, which they had first filed early in 2017. As incessantly promised by Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) since Trump won the presidential election in 2016, aggressive promotion of this idea will accelerate in the 116th Congress.
Democrat committee chairmen in the House have already compiled a list of 80 things to investigate about President Trump, including filing a subpoena for IRS release of every tax document ever filed by Donald Trump – business or personal.
Investigations will be pursued rabidly; legislation will be of secondary importance. Yes, they continue to confuse their constitutional responsibilities with those of the Justice Department. But that shouldn’t be a problem as long as their loyal cronies continue to occupy the upper echelons of the DOJ and the FBI.
Speaker Pelosi, after countless questions about one topic from the press, remained adamant: she refuses to entertain any thoughts of funding a wall across the southern U.S. border – or any portion of it. As long as Trump is in office Democrats will be dead set against any type of wall, even though many of them voted for security walls/barriers/fences in 2007 and 2013. The hypocrisy is so thick…
Democrats, by their words and actions, are determined to sell out the sovereignty and security of the United States, all to deny President Donald Trump a border wall. Their only priority, sought at any cost, is to deny Trump any gain or victory on any issue. They do not care how our nation or its people are impacted by an alien invasion across our southern border – it really doesn’t matter to them. They seek power and control; laws and regulations are for others to follow.
Then there’s the ridiculous plan by the freshman Democrat-Socialist from New York, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, labeled the “Green New Deal.” The proposal will cripple the U.S. with a tax rate of 70% on the “tippy-top” rich (job-creators) in our nation, all to satisfy progressive climate change fantasies. There’s also a motion to eliminate the Electoral College!
Yes, the inmates of the asylum are once more in control.
