Letter to the Editor: Revisiting Drag Queen Story Hour – by Keith Hueftle

The point is not the Drag Queens. Even if the Story Hours were being done by NFL players, the agenda of “gender fluidity” is raising havoc nationally, with children and teenagers thrown into unnecessary confusion and trauma. As teenagers do, they go with the current fad (ROGD: a new category, “Rapid Onset of Gender Dysphoria”); clusters of girls are suddenly desperate to make the body-changes.

A frightening percent of teenagers (boys and girls) are making decisions about their bodies which will hamper them all their lives—-either having to take hormones all their lives, being made infertile, and/or living with the results of bodies maimed for life by surgeries. Counselors rattled by fears of teen suicide and urging on the drastic measures would do better by calming the atmosphere with advising the Long Look—-namely, that these teenage confusions will pass.

Follow the long-term science on this; not the faddish stuff coming out of the universities.

The issue sounds like “fairness” and “inclusion”. But it’s actually part of a cultural agenda badly threatening the formation of our children and young people. There are masses of papers being written about “gender fluidity”—but no “science” supporting it.

Actually, the only “science” on the matter has come out of John Hopkins Hospital/University which has the records of their 40 years of sex-change surgeries and hormonal treatment. And because of looking at the years of follow-up with patients, they stopped doing the surgeries and have sage counsel regarding the effects of meddling with hormonal change for young people.

It would help if our leadership had access to more than the current, one-sided, politically correct deluge of writings by a distorted university elite. For instance, I would recommend the 2018 well-documented book: When Harry Became Sally.
