Fauci Fever: Wrong Predictions & Bad Decisions – by Jim Bratten

Referring to the Wuhan virus released by Red China late last year, Dr. Anthony Fauci said on Newsmax January 21, 2020, “…this is not a major threat to the people of the United States and this is not something that the citizens of the United States right now should be worried about.”

February 15, as the Wuhan virus rapidly spread across the world, Dr. Fauci said that chances of it becoming a problem in this country were “minuscule.”

In an interview with CBS on March 8, Dr. Fauci said, “Right now… there’s no reason to be walking around with a mask. When you’re in the middle of an outbreak, wearing a mask might make people feel a little bit better, and it might even block a droplet; but it’s not providing the perfect protection that people think that it is…”

Then on April 2, a frustrated Dr. Fauci said he didn’t understand why the entire country “has not been quarantined…”

On The Journal broadcast of April 7, Dr. Fauci stated, “I don’t think we should ever shake hands ever again, to be honest with you. Not only would it be good to prevent coronavirus disease, it probably would decrease instances of influenza dramatically in this country.”

For nearly two months, Dr. Fauci never prepared the country with any plans other than “stay away from others” and “we shouldn’t worry.” He compared the Wuhan flu virus to common influenza. “The virus is not a threat to the U.S.”

Back on March 13, the CDC projected that anywhere from 160 to 214 million Americans would contract the Wuhan virus. They predicted 21 million would be hospitalized in a population of 328 million, with 2 million dead. The scare was there and every media outlet spread it with great emphasis and mindless enthusiasm.

The “models” repeatedly failed to predict accurately but Fauci was given a pass and time to “readjust” failed models. The press was enraptured by his measured, calm presence. Dr. Fauci was the authority in control. All of Trump’s White House Coronavirus Task Force medical advisers bought into Fauci’s rhetoric and suggested a major lockdown. But who is Dr. Fauci and why did Pence put him on the Task Force?

Anthony Fauci has been working in the federal bureaucracy for 52 years, since 1968, most of that time with the National Institutes for Health (NIH). He’s never practiced medicine privately and never faced viruses up close and personal – only through a microscope. He’s a bureaucrat, but also the “nation’s top expert on infectious diseases.” His guesstimates about the Wuhan virus have not been based on science but on error-filled computer models that are constantly reworked but never correct. The data from Dr. Fauci has been completely unreliable.

He is not positioned over the CDC, NIH or certain levels within the HHS – but he answers for them. Fauci is a “public health official” so he’s above reproach. He’s been appointed as the authority over all things “national pandemic.” Lawns all over NW Washington, DC boast yard signs stating, “Thank You Dr. Fauci!” He’s the newest cult hero of progressives.

The CDC recently said 10% of all Americans have considered suicide and 13% have started or increased substance use to cope with pandemic stress. Extended lockdowns can have high costs in human lives, but Fauci’s reaction? Millions of lost jobs and tens of thousands of deaths from economic lockdowns are “inconvenient.”

Never appoint a bureaucrat to do a doctor’s job. We need a permanent cure from the media’s Fauci fever.

  1. Thanks Jim for your report on this man. There’s so much more about his work in the past, that helps to understand his somewhat unusual answers to this virus and the remedies for it this year.
Remdesivir is something that he has personal interests in. Makes sense why he does want HCQ to be used as an alternative for most effective treatment.
Remdesivir is an infused medication, or through an IV treatment, not pills. It’s like a $3500 pop, v a $50 total treatment for the long term used malaria medication.
Also, the millions of dollars sent to the Wuhan laboratory during the Obama administration, which may well violate our laws use of taxpayers funds.
Yes, I’m sure there’s more than these two things, but the freedom of the press has been ‘fundamentally transformed’ into the democratic socialist Marxist communist voice and refuses to provide any bad news about it.
    Have a great week!
