Back in September, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich pushed back against Fox News for cutting off his comments during a Fox News panel discussion, when he mentioned a forbidden name: George Soros. In an email on September 21, Newt told Fox News, “I get attacked by the Left whenever I expose George Soros in public. But I won’t stop speaking the truth.”

He went on to explain why Soros must be exposed for what he is doing to damage our nation. “The truth is: Soros is funding anti-police candidates. He made the largest legally allowed donation to the Democrat running in the bellwether Senate race of North Carolina who says he ‘joins the fight’ of protesters who want to ‘abolish the police.’” Newt added, “Soros also spent $28 million on voter registration and vote-by-mail initiatives – and now, the Democrat is leading in returned ballots in this bellwether race that will decide the Senate.”

Why can’t Republicans respond to Democrat statements and accusations in a more direct, forceful way? For example, when Joe Biden says his administration will “put an end to cozying up to dictators,” the Republican push-back response should be: “You mean like the official policy of every Democrat administration since Jimmy Carter? If Democrats will stop ‘cozying up’ to the mullahs of Iran, Hamas and Hezbollah, Soviets during the Cold War, Pol Pot, Ho Chi Minh, Fidel Castro, Hugo Chavez and his successor Maduro, the Sandinistas, and decades of Communist Chinese despots…”

Even President Trump occasionally comes up short. When a reporter from Playboy (of all publications interested in news) badgered the president recently at a press conference about conceding the election should he lose and whether he would give his successor a smooth transfer of power, the president answered with comments about the fraud potential of mail-in ballots. What? A better answer would have been, “Shouldn’t you be speaking to your fellow Democrats, who still haven’t ‘conceded’ the election of 2016? And maybe you should ask them why wasn’t I, as president elect, given a ‘smooth transition’?”

As is their usual “go along to get along” habit, some Republicans are now joining Democrats in addressing Trump’s campaign, insisting, “Move on, certify the election for Biden, and let’s get on with things…” These Republicans, along with Fox News and other media, are claiming “no fraud,” when this has been the most corrupt, most fraudulent election in this nation’s history.

Republican Senator Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania (fortunately not running for reelection) urged President Trump to cooperate with the Biden “transition team,” even though Biden has not been certified as “president elect,” since the Electoral College hasn’t met to declare a winner. That will happen on December 14. Toomey says that there is an overwhelming likelihood that Biden will beat Trump (his wishful thinking). “We’re on a path; it looks likely Joe Biden is going to be the next president of the United States… so I think a transition process ought to begin.”

Three other GOP senators have thus far publicly called for Trump to surrender to the Democrat Media declaration, even in the face of wide-spread voter fraud: Susan Collins of Maine; Mitt Romney of Utah; and Ben Sasse of Nebraska.

For four years, Republican leadership sat idle, while President Trump fought, nearly singularly, against one Democrat-fostered hoax after another. No push-back.

Republican leaders in the Senate were too busy protecting Robert Mueller.
