Searching for a Coherent Thought

Joe Biden was in his usual fine form in a recent brief press conference (these have to be brief, before his mental state disintegrates): “So the best way to get something done… if you, if you hold near and dear to you that you… uh… um… like to be able to… anyway.”

Then there’s Biden’s protégé, Rep. Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), his understudy in mental acuity, tweeting recently on accusations of the alleged president’s border surge: “Just gut check, stop. Anyone who’s using the term ‘surge’ around you consciously is trying to invoke a militaristic frame, and that’s a problem. Because this is not a ‘surge,’ these are children, and they are not insurgents.” Insurgents?

Thank goodness her mental condition is not contagious. But it develops from a steady exposure to progressivism and Marxist ideological doctrine, which is

The “Big Lie”

A massive propaganda campaign has driven the Democrat Media since January 6: President Trump’s accusation of a “stolen election” in November, 2020 is the “Big Lie” that is the reason for the January 6 incident in the U.S. Capitol. They also say the Big Lie is the cover-up for what they call the “January 6th Insurrection.” (An insurrection, it’s not.) How can it be both?

Let’s look at a few facts, “The January 6th Insurrection” vs. Pelosi’s “Summer of Rage, 2020.” Cost of January 6: $30 million (this includes the fortifications of Fort Pelosi and the cost of 25,000 National Guardsmen). Cost of Pelosi’s “Summer of Rage, 2020”: $2 billion. Fatalities of January 6: one death (the execution of unarmed USAF Veteran Ashli Babbitt by a Capitol Hill Police officer). Fatalities of Pelosi’s “Summer of Rage, 2020”: 4,000 estimated deaths (increased murders over the summer, plus police officers killed).

There is no comparison, not even close.

Juneteenth

Democrats have won another battle in their promotion of division by race, using an opportunity to establish a national holiday for black Americans. June 19, 1865 was a day when a contingent of Union soldiers led by Major General Gordon Granger traveled through Texas and stopped in Galveston. He proclaimed to a group of blacks in that city that all slaves were now free and, henceforth, they would be considered “forced labor.” The black Texans he addressed in Galveston hadn’t heard this, even though war had ended two months earlier.

I’m certain that, as the Union soldiers traveled through the South after the War Between the States ended on April 9, 1865, they proclaimed the same good news to blacks they met in many other cities.

Slaves in Galveston and every other city had already been declared “free” when President Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation into law on January 1, 1863. That document stated that “all persons held as slaves” were free as of that date, regardless of race. If January 1st cannot be celebrated as “Emancipation Day” (there’s already a national holiday on that date), then why not April 9th, instead of one day affecting only slaves in Galveston?

Another political sop has been thrown at the “black community” by Democrats, to cement their victim status and loyalty to that political party at a cost to American taxpayers of $600 million to pay government employees not to work that day.

The bill declaring June 19 a national holiday passed with unanimous support in Congress. No Republicans were courageous enough to recite the historical record and stand against another federal holiday.
