Entrepreneur, and founder of Tesla and SpaceX, Elon Musk bought the Twitter social media platform for $44 billion on April 25. In a news release that day, Musk said, “Free speech is the bedrock of a functioning democracy, and Twitter is the digital town square where matters vital to the future of humanity are debated. I also want to make Twitter better than ever by enhancing the product with new features, making the algorithms open source to increase trust, defeating the spam bots, and authenticating all humans.” Musk added, “Twitter has tremendous potential — I look forward to working with the company and the community of users to unlock it,” Musk added.
Jack Dorsey, founder and former CEO of Twitter, sees the broader picture and backs Musk as the solution to a failing platform. “Elon is the only one I trust with Twitter.”
However, 70% of Twitter employees are diehard progressives and hold “free speech” as anathema to their ideology. There is preferred speech, but certainly not free speech.
On the day of the deal, Musk tweeted: “I hope that even my worst critics remain on Twitter, because that is what free speech means.” It turns out, as it usually does when one offers a verbal olive branch to rabid Leftists, that the honest offer is angrily swatted down. They have no interest in entertaining any idea of “free” speech, no matter the venue.
A resident black supremacist at Black Lives Matter (BLM), Shaun King tweeted: “At its root, @ElonMusk wanting to purchase Twitter is not about left vs right. It’s about white power. The man was raised in apartheid by a white nationalist. He’s upset that Twitter won’t allow white nationalists to target/harass people. That’s his definition of free speech.”
This is typical of the insane threats being thrown; Elon Musk is now officially a racist because he bought Twitter and wants to clean it up, give it some principles and make it profitable. Musk says he wants to “lift all censorship” so he’s a racist and white supremacist.
As reported by Mike Landry in The Western Journal on April 26, King told the New York Post, “So for me, this isn’t about left vs right. Not at all. It’s about how the richest man in the world, a son of Apartheid, raised by a white nationalist, wants to be sure his speech, and that of other white men, isn’t censored.”
Musk’s buyout of Twitter has inflamed the Left. Here’s MSNBC host Joy Reid on April 26, obviously linking Musk with apartheid: “The enjoyment they get, out of being in this ‘town square’ is being able to harass people… Elon Musk – I guess he misses the old South Africa of the ’80s – he wants that back.” One of the members on The View, same day, chimed in, “To me, it’s about free speech of straight, white men – and so, let ‘em have it.”
On April 25, MSNBC host Ari Melber, on The Beat, described exactly what the Democrat Media had done in the election of 2020! Then he expressed his fear that’s what Musk has planned to do with Twitter… like canceling a fake news source for Ari.
Anticipating Musk’s plans, Joe Scarborough exclaimed on MSNBC, “Elon Musk! joins in, which tells you what a sewer Twitter would be if he ran it.” The diatribe against Musk continued on CNN: “We’re all more affected by this, than we are SpaceX and Tesla. This affects all of us in terms of misinformation.” The Democrat Media cabal that exemplifies that term now accuses those who try to avoid the crushing effects of it.
Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) called the purchase “dangerous for our democracy,” as reported by the Post. (Translation from DemSpeak: “dangerous for our oligarchy.”)
This meltdown of the radical Left is no surprise, however; it has these periodically. The presidency of Donald Trump just stoked the flare-ups as they were exposed: what really lurks in their social platform boardrooms: Total control over your speech and thought, and hatred for our electoral system.
Elon Musk just fired a large caliber shot across their bow. “Digital town square”? Debate? Open-sourced algorithms? Increasing trust and defeating spam bots? For those who dictate from an anti-humanity, anti-American ideology, these were fightin’ words, not to mention forbidden ideas. Musk has thrown down a challenge to Big Tech censors and the speech-control establishment is indeed in meltdown. Their speech control plot is being exposed.
